How to confirm a part reference before buying

A practical process to reduce incorrect orders for coils, sensors, plugs, brakes, timing parts and fuel-pump modules.

The correct verification order

  1. OE or current part number. This is the most useful starting point.
  2. Complete vehicle data. Make, model, year, engine and transmission.
  3. VIN whenever possible. It separates versions that share one body style.
  4. A useful photo. Show the label, connector, mountings and overall shape.
  5. Category details. Sensor position, wire count, brake axle/side or kit contents.
