TORCH · DENSO · NGK

How to compare TORCH, DENSO and NGK spark plugs correctly

A spark-plug reference must be checked by application and specification, not only by appearance or an assumed heat-range equivalent.

What can be compared

  • OE or original reference.
  • Application engine and year.
  • Thread diameter and pitch, reach and seat type.
  • Electrode count/design, material and gap.
  • Heat range according to the application specification.

What not to do

Do not use a generic table to replace a spark plug merely because two brands appear to have equivalent heat ranges. Equivalence depends on the application and also on dimensions, seat, reach, projection, material and gap.

AMPT policy

TORCH is the primary line. DENSO and NGK are complementary references. We publish specific cross references only when we can document the application and specifications; all other cases are confirmed with the buyer before quotation.

What to send for a quick check

  1. A clear photo of the current spark-plug code or OE.
  2. Make, model, year and engine code.
  3. If the plug has been modified, a photo of the box and removed part.
  4. Your preferred brand: TORCH, DENSO or NGK.
